    Car Seat Leather

    All Continew leather products are made of natural cowhide obtained from automobiles. Car seat leather is a high-grade natural cowhide that is resistant to friction, humidity and temperature.

    Air Bag Nylon

    Continew uses nylon material obtained from the airbag of the steering wheel. It minimizes air, water, and soil pollution that occurs during the production of nylon, a synthetic material.

    Repurposed Material

    Continew makes a material that has fulfilled its original purpose into a product with another purpose. We lead the circulation of nature by recycling marine waste nets and plastic bottles in the sea of Jeju.

Our Efforts & Process

Materials rediscovered through Continew go through a design development and test research period of 455 days on average so that they can be durable and long-lasting even after being recreated into new products.

We present the future of eco-friendly fashion through transparency in the process, not an eco-friendly company that only upcycles materials. We completed a hybrid water regeneration system after 1 year and 2 months of development that collects rainwater for washing, and discarded water is filtered and used again as washing water. 100% of electric energy is self-generated through photovoltaic power generation that maximizes energy efficiency.

How we Upcycle

Eco-friendly in both materials and processes

Continew’s Ecological Plant 021 was completed in October 2020 after 18 months of research and construction. We present the sustainable potential of a fashion company through self-supplying electric energy through solar power and a hybrid water regeneration system.

Achieving carbon neutrality

To increase the energy efficiency of the factory, weak insulation was reinforced and windows were installed to increase natural light. The carcinogen asbestos roof was demolished to create an eco-friendly roof that collects solar energy.

Achieving zero water footprint

Continew’s ecological factory was completed by improving all water pipes to collect rainwater. This factory operates as an open ecological factory for anyone to visit at any time. We want to share our values and philosophy with many people.

   

Introducing Continew Store

More than 90% of the materials used in the store construction from reused resources.

We completed the floor by reusing the wooden floor from a closed school and waste tires. We carved out discarded bricks to decorate the walls, made shelves with sawdust, and chandeliers with plastic waste.

Environmental effects that Continew strives for

Water - essential resources for upcycling.

We collect rainwater and use it as water necessary for the upcycling process, and wastewater that is discarded after washing is filtered and used again as washing water. The water footprint reaches ‘0’ through this means. When we make a bag, we save an average of 560 liters of water compared to a conventional leather bag. But we still have a lot to do. We don’t think we’re perfect. So, our continuous efforts continue.

Detergent - washing with eco-friendly detergent

Chemical detergents are never used for washing upcycling materials. We self-developed eco-friendly detergent made mainly of coconut oil and baking soda. This reduces water pollution and provides better products to consumers.

Animal-natural leather bag without using natural leather

Leather seats, a representative material that cannot be recycled when automobiles are produced or scrapped.
We have just turned the discarded material back into use. We made it useful without killing animals indiscriminately to get new hides. 0% leather exhausted, but 100% real leather.

Waste

Through our hands, uselessness turns into uselessness. We collect leather seat covers, airbags, and seat belts, which are non-recyclable automobile waste that could only be landfilled, and use them as main materials for our products. The more we make bags, the more our environmental value effect increases. It delivers simple and powerful environmental effects. Everything in the world is worth it.

Electricity

We are self-supplying electric energy through solar energy. In 2020, our plant achieved 100% renewable energy usage, and by 2021, we plan to produce 150% of the electric energy used in our plant. We take one step closer to realizing the goal of zero carbon footprint.

We provide jobs to support the self-reliance of various vulnerable groups
such as North Korean defectors, women on career breaks, and seniors.

Our practice for ethical governance

For healthy sustainable growth, we operate the corporate
governance ethically and transparently.

Once a quarter, four times a year, All employees can present their ideas of strategic direction for a company through an
official internal competition, and we also actively accept consumer suggestions. In order to materialize and implement
this, a representative of employees is appointed as an inside director, and an external person representing
the consumer position is appointed as an outside director. Through this, we create a healthy sustainable cycle and
growth of environmental, social, and economic values (Sustainable triple bottom line).
